Prince George County School District is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Prince, VA

TITLE
DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
SALARY RANGE
Commensurate with experience on the D31 scale
POSITION TYPE
Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Position is responsible for managing and administering personnel services, compensation and benefits, non-licensed staff development, performance evaluation and compliance with School Board policies and government regulations as it relates to human resources functions for the Prince George County Public Schools (PGCPS).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Holds a bachelor’s degree
Preferably holds a master’s degree with an endorsement in school administration or possesses considerable experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity (in a school division environment preferred)
Professional knowledge of the public school system necessary for working effectively with school personnel, Superintendent, School Board Members, school leaders, and members of the community
Experience navigating conflict resolution and employee matters while maintaining confidentiality
Ability to implement and uphold all division, local, state, federal, laws and regulations.
Knowledge in managing HR related finances and budgetary needs, including grant management and implementation related to funding for positions, state incentives, and special grant funding
Considerable experience in leadership and/or supervisory roles (in a Human Resources office preferred)
Ability to work successfully with teachers, administrators, and school officials
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision performing a variety of complex and routine tasks
REPORTS TO
Superintendent
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Translate the organizational mission and strategy into workforce plans and programs that align with overall strategic objectives
Maintains division recognitions framework and awards programs
Execute Human Resources policies and update as needed
Maintain position control and communicate with other administrative departments regarding school staffing needs each year
Serve as the division’s Title IX Coordinator
Manage Human Resources compliance
Forecast talent needs and expected vacancies
Assess the workforce’s current capabilities
Create plans to attract, develop and deploy talent
Oversee recruiting
Oversee the division re-licensure program to include providing support for building administrators in the area of re-licensure
Provide support to all those holding a provisional license as each work to obtain full VA licensure
Manage compensation and collaborate with finance team and benefits administrator
Identify, select, and manage external vendors
Oversee non-licensed staff development learning, skills and career development
Manage in-house Human Resources data, reporting and analysis
Support and administer performance evaluation and management for all personnel
Model non-discriminatory behavior at all times and follow established safe work practices
Follow established PGCPS policies and procedures at all time
Perform other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve months a year. Salary determined according to the PGCPS Pay Plan
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the school board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Staff, Policy GCN.
